Penang Trip - Part 1

Written by Kyan on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 4:46 PM

It was a tiring journey.

Most of us (--" actually everyone) decided to take a short break by taking a nap before exploring the streets of Penang .

..
Snoozing
..

Snoozing

..
..
and Snoozing

..

And would you looked at that, it's already around dinner time.

Immediately, we got our butts up, tidy a bit of our self and head to the streets for dinner.

Jeff took the pleasure to "guide" us and finally we ended up in...

New Lane

It's a place where there's many hawker stalls which sells different ,variety of Penang food.

Busy StreetsYoung and oldIn depth

.
.
There are many hawker stalls ,

from Kuey Teow to Har Mee, to Asam Laksa.
. .

Looked at the size of those huge prawns,

but it cost ed Valentine around Rm 9 for it.

.
.

The Curry Mee that I've ordered,

It's no ordinary curry mee that you can find in any town.

I bet you guys wondering what's the red cubic shaped thingy floating on the surface of the soup ?

It is pig's blood.
Yucks...

Pei Xin with her Asam Laksa.

After having our dinner, we decided to move on, to a place located nearby , where Penang is famous of it ...

.
.

Gurney

Our tummy was as huge as a balloon, so it's normal for us to go for a decent walk to enhance digestion.

So, we ended up in Gurney Plaza.

.

.

Shopping, shopping.

Well, I'm at the edge of bankruptcy =x,

So, didn't managed to buy anything.

At the end, we ended pooling there.

The famous Gurney Drive.
.
.
.

Next, we drove our self to...
.
.
.

Batu Ferringi

It's a typical place for tourist to loiter , cause there's a street market over there where you can buy some souvenirs for your family and friends back home.

It was a very enjoyable moment some how i found during that time.

And i managed to buy this fake Ray Ban sun glasses, which cost Rm 10 each.

What to do, cant afford to buy the real thing "mah"...

3 of us just looked so damn good with it . Ha ha

We just cant stop taking photographs of our self. Ha ha

Then there's one "The Ship" here, and it really is a ship.

Basically that was a day at Penang, later after taking some pictures, we drove back to Vistana and get ready for the next phase of our trip .

Our Journey To Penang.

Written by Kyan on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 9:28 PM

Finally, the biggest event ever made so far since i was at Utar .

Our journey to Penang wasn't any mere dream anymore.
It was Sunday, 6 in the morning, where we took off from Sg Long with Alvin's Waja and Patrick's MyV along with another Unser.

Vroom, Vroom, We definitely sped that day, around 130km/h.

Whose that wonderful driver ? Alvin of cause.

Along the Plus Highway, we saw a very COOL uncle driving a "topless" 70's car .

Very " The Yeng ".

On the other hand, Adeline was like......Snoozing away, dazzling in her wonderland. Ha ha

Along with a mummified Hui San and the Big Sister Pei Xin, the whole journey to Penang was so...

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman , Kampar.

This was our first pit stop

We made a visit to Kampar and took the pleasure to take some photos.

The main entrance. The lake view. The Bright Students

And The Handsome

Kampar is a very very very beautiful place, no doubt of that.

Ipoh city

After picking up a friend from Kampar, we made our self into the city streets of Ipoh for a" light" lunch.

The City The Hungry Customer The Satisfied customer

I just couldn't forget the lunch for that day, cause the taste of the mee " wan tan" was simply just too plain. (awful) =x

The Penang Bridge

Finally, we made it to Penang safely after a speedy ride from the 2 drivers. He he

We drove along the bridge ,admiring the beautiful structure and the scenery of the sea.

The Bridge
The Vistana

We checked into the so called " apartment" around 2 if not mistaken.

(Hotel actually)

It was luxurious, spacious , comfy and can load the 15 of us in it .

MERDEKA!

Written by Kyan on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 4:05 AM

Yes, finally, my finals is over !
And so does my year 2 sem 1!
OMG, I'm 21 years old this year!
And yet I'm still single! Ha ha =x
Today is a BIG day for Utar student's, even bigger then "kena" Toto- Sem Break.
Everyone just came out from the examination hall, saying they've " Kan-Toi" (Screwed) their papers .Yet, the two of us hoped that we can passed the paper with flying colours. And same goes to Alvin too.Without further delays, we "terus cabut " to Sunway for dinner.
(I've skipped the afternoon part- cause most of the time was at home)

We went to try the Syabu-syabu at the Bar-BQ Plaza restaurant located at the old wing of Sunway, just a few steps from the ice skating field.
The place is said to be packed during the weekends and luckily for us, it's THURSDAY.

So, we opened up the menu.
Pointed
this and that
and after a few minutes
.
.
"Whoa-la", food is served.
The best part of the dished was the pork sliced, along with some Bacon and the beef, made the dinner a blessing.

Ironically, the garlic fried rice was so ......economical.

Looked so pity, but the taste is guaranteed superb.

Customers

well served by the waitress

made the whole restaurant a sucess

.

.

Ha ha, i was trying to capture the girl that passed by actually.

Ha ha, shame on me.

.

.

.

向左走

向右走

.

.

.

That was basically what i've done after the examination.

Speaking of it, i'll be heading to Penang in another few minutes for a 3 days 2 nights trip,

and guessed what time is it now ? 5 in the morning, i havent slept for today!

I've been going on like this lately, seems like i've turned into a night stalker too just like Hai Xin.

Ha ha

.

.

See you guys 3 days later. .

Korean Style steamboat.

Written by Kyan on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 12:59 AM

Birthdays can be so fun but yet, if there's tons of people having their birthdays in a single week, it can be so so so torturing both to you and your wallet.

.
.

Ha Ha

What to do...

.

.

Well, let's meet the birthday gal and the birthday gay, oops ...guy, dear Pei Xin (obviously the right side of the photo) and Patrick ( Left)

.

"Happy Birthday"

.
.( Sorry for the late post)

.

So, as Patrick have decided, we went to the so called " Korean BBQ stone plate steamboat" or what so ever. (kinda forgot what's the full name for that shop dy, Ha ha) located at Ampang to celebrate their birthday.

What was different that day was, Wen Jie and I were late that day. We reached there afterwards from Mid valley, after i went to find Jest.
.

.

"Stone plate" add on some eggs and prawns can make up a simple delicacy.

Meet the two who gave this splendid idea, Yi Lee and Coke.
.
And how was the comment from the "customer" ?

Yi Ming (Picture above)

Hui Qing/chien (picture above)

"Hou Hou Sik" (as in Cantonese) which means delicious.

Billy (picture above)

"Mou Dak Ding " ( as in Cantonese) which means irresistible.

Pei Xin:" They are mine!"

.

.

On the other hand, Wen Jie and i were like...

Everyone was busy eating, chatting, taking photos and made a wonderful memory out of that day.

Ya, it was wonderful, but ironically, the beef was "sold out" that day too. Zzz
.

.

Some pictures taken that night

Peace!

Gorgeous?

Or Pregnant ?

"Peace " Take 2 !

Patrick's present given by us.

Check out the hand, stalking for the food, and i bet i know whose hand is it.

And lastly, a group picture taken for that night.

That't the end for the journey .

.

There're all types of memories, sweet, tough, hardship, heartbreaking and so on,

but that night, it was candy sweet...

( I know it sounds irritating, but cant think of any better way to end this topic, damn)

Ha Ha

.

.

Peace.
